The touching gesture in French

The touching gesture came in the aftermath of the terror attacks in the French capital by Islamic extremists which left at least 129 people dead.

The man stands near the Place de la Republique in the centre of the city with two signs.
One says: "I am a Muslim, but they tell me I'm a terrorist."
The other one says: "I trust you. Do you trust me.  If so, hug me."

The man’s IG
This Muslim man asked for hugs in Paris
An incredible scene then sees mourners in Paris come in their droves to embrace the Muslim man.
Afterwards the man, who has not been identified, lifted up his blindfold and said: "I would like to thank every one of you for giving me a hug.
"I did this to send a message to everyone.

Muslim Hug’s IG
The man was embraced by hundreds
"I'm a Muslim, but that doesn't make me a terrorist - I never killed anyone."

And there's a touching connection between the man and yesterday's terror attacks.
He said: "Last Friday was my birthday, but I didn't go out.
"I feel deeply for all the victims families."
The Muslim man sends a message
And in an emotional message he added: "I want to tell you 'Muslim' doesn't necessarily mean 'terrorist'."

Bombing in Tianjin

Dramatic drone footage has been released appearing to show the clean-up operation at Tianjin, China, where two explosions ripped through a chemicals storage facility in August, killing more than 160 people.

Twelve people have been arrested over the blasts, which left a trail of mangled buildings and burnt out cars in their wake, including owners of Rui Hai International Logistics who were shown on state television being held by police and "confessing" to using government connections to obtain safety permits.

The blast was triggered by the ignition of thousands of tones of hazardous chemicals stored at the facility, including approximately 700 tones of highly poisonous sodium cyanide.

The warehouse was built within 600 meters of some residential buildings, despite a regulation mandating any hazardous material storage facilities must be at least a kilometer away.

China's state-run Xinhua news agency said in September that authorities suggested the blast site be turned into as "eco-park".

Industrial accidents are common in China, with corruption thought to be a key factor behind lax enforcement of safety regulations.

Less than two weeks after the Tianjin explosions, an explosion at a chemical plant in east China's Shandong province killed one person and injured nine.

Zimbabwe will not charge Walter Palmer in Cecil the lion killing

The Minnesota dentist that was at the center of controversy surrounding the killing of a famed lion named Cecil will not be charged with any crime in Zimbabwe, according to a report Monday morning.

Reuters reports Palmer had "all (his) papers in order," according to Zimbabwe Environmental Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, who told reporters on Monday that Palmer could not be charged.

According to the report, Muchinguri-Kashiri said: "We approached the police and then the Prosecutor General, and it turned out that (Walter) Palmer came to Zimbabwe because all the papers were in order.

Muchinguri-Kashiri had said in July that Zimbabwean police and prosecutors would work to ensure Palmer returned to Zimbabwe to face poaching charges.

But on Monday she told reporters in Harare that Palmer can now safely return to Zimbabwe as a "tourist" because he had not broken the southern African country's hunting laws. She said the police and the National Prosecuting Authority had cleared Palmer of wrongdoing.

Palmer returned to work at his Bloomington, Minn., dental practice in early September and was met with a group of protesters, media and animal activists.

Palmer has long maintained he was hunting legally and said he was stunned when he found out someone in his hunting party killed Cecil.

Cecil, a resident of Hwange National park in western Zimbabwe, was well-known to tourists and researchers.

MERS infection

A 58-year-old woman died of acuter respiration failure after testing positive for MERS on Monday - making her the country's first death from the new outbreak of the deadly virus.
She had contact with South Korea's first patient, 68-year-old man who contracted the virus when on a business trip in Bahrain but is still receiving hospital treatment.
The second fatality is a 71-year-old man, who had been on respiratory support with a history of kidney ailments.
South Korea has reported 25 cases of MERS since its first case on May 20.
More than 680 people who had close contact with the patients, such as relatives and medical staff, have now been put in quarantine as officials try to stop the spread of the deadly disease.
The new outbreak of MERS saw British patients tested.
Authorities in the Middle East are being urged to do more to stop the infection spreading between camels, which then pass it on to humans.
MERS – also dubbed camel flu – has been spreading among those in the region since it was first discovered in 2012.
While the majority of cases have been recorded in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Ermirates and surrounding nations, cases have also been reported in Britain, France, Holland, Austria and Italy, with a Briton tested as recently as three weeks ago.
Starting off as flu-like symptoms, victims can then suffer pneumonia and kidney failure, and nearly 40 per cent of those contaminated end up dying.

拒絕貪污 FIFA Corruption

Fifa President Sepp Blatter was placed under criminal investigation by Swiss(1) authorities on Friday as a probe(2) into soccer corruption reached the highest levels and left his grip on the top job in peril(3).
The Swiss attorney(4) general's office opened proceedings(5) against Blatter for possible criminal mismanagement and misappropriation of FIFA money. Authorities also searched Blatter's office and seized data.
The announcements came as FIFA wrapped up(6) a two-day executive committe(7) meeting and marked another stunning day of turmoil(8) for the governing body and Blatter, who have been targeted by American and Swiss investigations into corruption.
This comes after 14 Fifa executives and officials were arrested in dawn raids by Swiss police at the request of the US government in May 2015.
It was part of an ongoing investigation into corruption at Fifa which concerns racketeering(9), wire fraud(10) and money laundering over the course of 24 years.
Those arrested include Rafael Esquivel, Nicolas Leoz, Jeffrey Webb, Jack Warner, Eduardo Li, Eugenio Figueredo and Jose Maria Marin .
At a press briefing following the arrests, US attorney general Loretta Lynch said: "The indictment(11) alleges(12) corruption that is rampant(13), systemic and deep-rooted," said US attorney general Loretta Lynch.
"It spans(14) at least two generations of soccer officials who, as alleged, have abused their positions of trust to acquire millions of dollars in bribes and kickbacks(15)."
In addition, a criminal investigation into how the 2018 and 2022 World Cups were awarded has also begun.
These investigations are the latest development in a timeline of the World football's governing body that has been dogged by allegations of corruption following a 2010 exposé relating to the World Cup bidding process.
Three days after being re-elected Sepp Blatter resigned as Fifa president amid a widening corruption scandal(16) and promised to call for fresh elections to choose a successor.

馬拉拉的奮鬥 Fighting!!

25 September 2015 – Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly alongside 193 youth representatives from the Organization’s 193 Member States, Pakistani education advocate Malala Yousafzai today asked world leaders to promise that every child will have the right to safe, free and quality primary and secondary education.
“World leaders sitting there, look up because the future generation is raising their voice,” Ms. Yousafzai, who was shot in 2012 by the Taliban for attending classes, told hundreds of senior government officials in a stirring address delivered from the highest mezzanine of the General Assembly Hall.
“Today, we are 193 young people representing billions more. Each lantern we hold represents the hope we have for our future because of the commitments you have made to the global goals,” she added as each young person held up a blue light.
The 17 Global Goals are part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was adopted by the General Assembly just minutes after the youngest-ever Nobel Laureate addressed the Hall.
They aim to build on the work of the historic Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which in September 2000 rallied the world around a common 15-year agenda to tackle the indignity of poverty.
“I’m hopeful that we all in the UN will be united in the goal of education and peace, and that we will make this world not just a better place, but the best place to live. Education is hope, education is peace,” Ms. Yousafzai stressed.

“The world leaders need to take all these issues more seriously,” Ms. Yousafzai told reporters. “They need to give it full attention and they should think about their own children. No one leader would want their own daughter, their own son, to be neglected of education, to be neglected in society and not given full rights.”Meanwhile, at a press conference following the event, she was joined by four girl ambassadors from Syria, Nigeria and Pakistan who echoed her call to world leaders to ensure that every child gets 12 years of safe, free and quality education.
“It’s really tragic what’s happening to children around the world, especially in Syria, in Iraq, and how they’re suffering. It’s shocking,” she continued.
Ms. Yousafzai noted how difficult it is for her to watch the news about those conflict-torn areas because every time she does, it makes her cry that no one is taking action while children die and girls continue to be sexually abused.
“I’m hopeful that when girls like us come together and raise our voices, the voices of those girls will be listened to because we speak on their behalf, we speak for their rights.”
The advocate’s first visit to the United Nations was on 12 July, 2013, which coincided with her 16th birthday. The date is now marked internationally as Malala Day.
